Nikos Vrakas holds a Ph.D. in the field of Information and Communication Security from the University of Piraeus. He received his bachelor degree in Mathematics from the University of the Aegean and the M.Sc. in Information and Communication Security where he received scholarship for his efforts. He has authored several papers as well as a chapter in a book in the field of IT Security. Moreover, he has contributed to many international conferences as organizing and program committee member and as a reviewer. His research interests include availability, intrusion detection and privacy preserving mechanisms of the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), in VoIP and IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) enviroments.
