Dimitra Georgiou was born in Larissa. She is a Ph.D Researcher at the Department of Digital Systems in the University of Piraeus , under the supervision of Professor Costas Lambrinoudakis. She is also a member of the team of the Systems Security Laboratory since the end of 2011. She holds an M.Sc in Technology Education & Digital Systems with the direction of Network Oriented Systems from the University of Piraeus and a B.Sc degree as an Engineer of Informatics and Telecommunications of the Technological Educational Institute of Larissas (T.E.I. of Thessaly). She has received a scholarship from the State Scholarship Foundation of Greece to study at the VSB-Technical University of Ostrava, in Czech Republic and she has successfully completed the intensive program of Information and Communication Security from the University of Vienna (SBA Research and Vienna University of Technology).The last six years, Dimitra is teaching at different Technical Educational Institutes of her country (T.E.I.), such as T.E.I. of Athens, T.E.I. of Larissas, and at various departments such as Business Administration, Computer Engineering, Project Management, Information Technology and Telecommunications. She is also teaching at many Public Vocational Training Institutes (IEK of Greece). She has worked for the private sector, at the IT Division of the Greek Yellow Pages Company, as well for the Agricultural Bank of Greece, and she has also provided services in the National Research and Education Network of Greece. Dimitra has been actively involved in local organizing committees and international scientific conferences, that co-organized by the Research group of Systems Security Laboratory of the University of Piraeus.
